FAQ

Q: Where can I buy your produce?
A: You can find our produce at these locations:
- Sabato Mt Eden/Newmarket
- 4 FARRO stores: Grey Lynn, Mairangi Bay (Constellation Dr), Smales Farm, Mt Wellington
- Fruitworld Silverdale
- OMGoodness Bakery Silverdale
- www.ooooby.co.nz
- The Superette, Omaha Beach
- Matakana Smokehouse Shopette

Q: Why aren't you attending Matakana Village Farmer's Market anymore?
A: We are selling well through our stockists and don't need to attend farmer's markets right now. Preparing for and attending farmer's markets take 3 days out of our week. Right now it's more efficient for us to concentrate on keeping our stockists stocked up and that we get to have at least one day off a week for ourselves.

Q: Why have you closed your home-delivery service?
A: We aim to operate more local to our farm; use less fuel and be more time efficient. We needed our home-delivery service during the covid years when the farmer's market was closed. Selling our produce at our stockists is a more time, cost and fuel efficient way for us to sell right now.

Q: Do you courier your produce?
A: No. We are 40 minutes drive from the closest courier depot pickup. It's not efficient for us to pack and drive orders to the depot. Selling our produce at our stockists is a more efficient way for us to sell right now.

Q: What crops do you grow?
A: Good question! We are the salad people! We aim to grow the best salads our customers can find. Year round we produce our award winning salads including Babyleaf w edible flowers and Mixed Lettuce salad. During warmer months we also grow: San Marzano style tomatoes and beans. During cooler months: our award winning Miners lettuce and rocket, Lamb's lettuce and snow peas. To find out more, subscribe to our farm updates and stories and follow us on facebook or instagram to keep up to date with what's in season, crop planting, harvesting and what it's like to living on our small farm.

Q: Are you organic?
A: We use no harmful sprays or synthetic inputs. All inputs we use are approved for use in organic gardening. We are not certified organic. More information on how we grow can be found in 'This is how we do it'.

Q: What packaging do you use?
A: We use home-compostable/worm-farm-friendly bags to package our leafy-greens and lettuce mixes. More info about packaging at 'This is how we do it'.

Q: Do you run farm visits?
A: This is something we've always talked about doing in the future. In reality it's never eventuated because, quite frankly we tend to work over 6 days a week, just keeping up with our regular workload. Follow us on facebook or instagram for updates.
